The La Bamba Show

The La Bamba Show is a tribute to Ritchie Valens featuring Ray Anthony, a seasoned performer who is endorsed by The Ritchie Valens Estate. This high energy, get up on your feet dance party mixes the music of Ritchie Valens with some of the greatest 50's Rock 'n' Roll hits of all time!

With his unparalleled tribute to the Latin crossover king Ritchie Valens, and also well respected in his own right as a versatile singer, phenomenal guitarist, great musician, great Entertainer and song writer..

Ray was first turned onto rock and roll at the age of 7 while watching Elvis Presley in the “1968 Comeback Special”. He was inspired to stand in front of the mirror shaking his leg just like the king of rock and roll. Ironically, the Ritchie Valens tribute fell into Ray’s lap. While performing his 50’s and 60’s act throughout Canada and the US, audience members began making reference to Ray’s uncanny resemblance to Lou Diamond Phillips in the 1987 film “La Bamba” and ever since he has become synonymous with Ritchie Valens.

With an endorsement from Ritchie Valens’ family, (Irma Valens (Ritchie’s sister) proclaiming, “Every time I see Ray perform as Ritchie it brings tears to my eyes". Two proclamations from the city of Los Angeles, for keeping the memory of Ritchie Valens alive, and the title of “ Branson’s Best Local Entertainer” as voted by Branson’s 417 Magazine, Sting Ray has his delighted audiences up on their feet dancing, and he “rocks the house” wherever he performs – whether it be in Branson Missouri at Dick Clark’s American Bandstand Theater or “Legends In Concert,” “50’s at the Hop” “Rock and Roll Heaven”, “Legends of Rock and Roll”, “Superstars in Concert”. He has worked and toured throughout North America playing to rave reviews and standing ovations.
