Originally from St. Louis, Matt’s roots were deeply planted in the blues, before moving to Hollywood, Florida, and beginning his musical career in the early ‘70’s at the Castaways, the Newport, and the Eden Roc in Miami Beach. “Go west young man,” lead Matt to Hollywood, California where he did commercials, Equity shows and jingles.
He also performed in some of Los Angeles’ most popular jaunts- The Whisky, the Roxy and the infamous Troubador. From there it was on to Las Vegas and Reno where Matt’s musical journey took him into the world of standards and show tunes.
In the mid ‘90’s, family needs beckoned him back to Florida and he’s been hitting some of the hottest clubs and condos ever since. “I guess you could say, “I’ve’ come full circle” offers
Matt. “I’ve gone from rock and roll to Tony Bennett … from The Whisky A-Go-Go to Century Village!”
